A36-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 15, 1998 VERNON ACHENBACH JR. Lancaster Fanning Staff SUMMIT STATION (Schuy lkill Co.) A 4-year-old Jersey cow, MVF Lester Florence, owned by Terry and Craig Rhein of Pine Grove, on August 7 was named supreme champion of the dairy breeds at the Schuylkill County Fair, held at the county fairgrounds in Summit Station. The Jersey cow was one of six breed grand champions in the final daily competition of the Schuylkill County Fair, which followed the regular open division Ayrshire show, allowing time for the Ayr shire grand champion to be milked out for the supreme championship contest. The youth division shows were judged by Lloyd Ebersole, while Thomas Smith of Palmyra served as judge for the two-day open divi sion breed shows. Smith complimented the exltibi lors on the quality of their animals.
