Kori Shows ‘Rosie’ To Market Champion At Schuylkill Fair
(Continued from Page B 21)
sheep breeder and Cumberland
Valley High School ag teacher said
he liked the profile of the lamb,
which had the length and loin
required by the industry.
Kori showed a lamb that “will
put out the largest percentage of
loin chop” of those in the class,
Leib noted.
The reserve shown by Cindie
Geary at 127 pounds, second place
in the heavy middleweight class,
was a real “well-made lamb,” said
Leib. The purebred Suffolk ewe
was shown by Cindie, 18, daughter
of Joan and Keith Geary, Pine
Grove.
Cindie is a graduate of Blue
Mountain High School and plans
to attend Wilkes University to
study pharmacy. This is her first
championship at the fair.
Kori Morgan also won champ
ion of the open market lamb show,
from the heavy middleweight
division.
In the open competition at the
sheep show, reserve was shown by
Kelly Pike with her 127-pound
Suffolk wether, reserve heavy
middleweight. Kelly, 16, the
daughter of Shirley and Jack Pike,
Quakertown, is a junior at Quaker
town High School.
This is the first time Kelly has
shown at the Schuylkill County
Fair. Kelly has recently shown at
the Sussex County, N.J. Fair, at
Kimberton, and plans to show at
the Keystone International Lives
tock Expo (KILE) and the state
Farm Show.
Moments before showing her
Hampshire/Suffolk ewe to
supreme champion in showman
ship, Kori Morgan listened care
fully to instructions from her
mother, Kim. Her mom “told me to
