DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN
SUMMARY
Wheat bids finished mixed on private
estimate of lower com crop and indications
that wheat cany out would be over 1 bil
lion bushels. Good crop conditions and
favorable growing weather, however, con
tinued to add pressure to grain and soybean
bids. Wheat mixed. Com steady to 2 cents
lower. Sorghum 7 cents lower. Soybeans 7
to 10 cents lower. Export sales have been
quite small this week for all commodities
and with the report that Jordan canceled
its’ tender for US wheat, bids moved low
er. Spring wheat, com and soybean crops
are all looking good and the weather has
been veiy agreeable to the growing stages.
A private source reported today that the
com crop estimate was cut from 9.455 bil
lion bushels to 9.411 billion bushels. How
ever, they increased the estimate for wheat
cany out to over 1 billion bushels, limiting
lasses in wheat bids.
