Summertime is picnic time.
My family has a tradition of get
ting together each summer. In
the 70s we celebrated my
father’s birthday and my uncles
at the same time in July. It was
always held in our meadow
beside the slow flowing
Conestoga. At that time the

as we did at that time.
On Sundays in the 1950 s our
meadow had many cars parked
in it as folks came to fish and
also for a place that the children
could swim. We charged the
large sum of 25 cents for each
Car that drove into our meadow.
When the picnic was for my
husband’s family of brothers and
cousins, we used the flat-bed
wagon as a table. It certainly,
could hold a lot of food as folks
came from as far away as
Delaware.
This year the family picnic
will be in a Community Park.
There will be play equipment
nearby for the children who now
come from as far away as
ECKROTHBROS.
