Dairy Profit Seminars a “crowd pleaser”
Dairy Profit Seminars feature
today’s top dairy industry personnel,
both as panel members and modera
tors. Hear from dairy farmers them
selves, who are getting the job done
on their own farms day in and day
out.
The Dairy Seminar Center is a
spacious tent located between E.
Seneca Acres and E. Make-A-Buck
Avenues. Lunch and refreshments
are always “on the house” for dairy
producers who listen in on the ses
sions. Door prizes and cash draw
ings are offered for those in the
audience. Sponsored by Agway, Inc.
and coordinated by Holstein World,
the sessions start at 11 a.m. each
day.
Topics this year are unique and
different from any you’ll hear at
dairy sessions for the rest of 1998.

NORTHEASrS AGRICULTURE SHOW PLACE
Wednesday, Aug. 12, looks at cow
comfort and the benefit of sand bed
ding in today’s modern dairy sys
tems. Moderated by Dave Galton,
Cornell University, this session
brings in dairy producers from
Michigan and across New York who
make the most of sand bedding.
AND, their cows love it too!
Thursday, August 13, offers an
unusual topic that most of us don’t
think about very much or even think
about monitoring. Yet, it’s costly and
could be taking away some of your
hard earned cash. It’s on-farm
shrink. Who is REALLY eating your
feedstuff's? Hear from those who
have battled wind, rodents, rain and
more to prevent the loss of feed once
it reaches the farm. Corwin Holtz,
Western NY Agway, moderates this
session with panelists from
Colorado, Kansas and New York.
