Berks County 4-H Dairy Benefit Auction
FLEETWOOD (Berks
County) The Berks County 4-
H Dairy Clubs are going to hold
it’s third 4-H Dairy Benefit
Auction on Saturday, August
15th at the Kutztown
Fairgounds. The Auction event
will begin at 7:30 P.M. with the
items being on display at 6:30
P.M. in the Livestock Show
Pavilion. All of the proceeds
from the sale will go to the
Berks County 4-H Dairy Council
to fund the various county 4-H
dairy programs.
Four-H dairy club supporters
from across the country have
created and donated a variety of
high quality country related dec
orator items. Some of the dona
tions include: an antique ’3os -
’4os hand stitched quilt, detach
able patchwork collar with
pewter buttons, two pairs of
hand-screened hex signs made
by Moyers Sign Co. (one 16 inch
pair and one 24 inch pair), a cow
print pillow, hand quilted pil
lows (cow and chickens), and
plants. If you are looking for a
unique country decoration,
you’ll want to come to the
Kutztown Fair and bid on

Junior Dairy Management For All American
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) The Pennsylvania All-
American Dairy Show’s Junior
Dairy Management Contest will
offer a $l,OOO post high school
scholarship as the top prize to
the young person who displays
the best overall knowledge of the
dairy industry. The award is
sponsored by the Pennsylvania
Dairymen’s Association.
This is the 35th year for the
All-American Dairy Show which
will be held September 21-25 at
the Farm Show Complex,
Harrisburg.
Scheduled for Tuesday,
September 22, the contest, now
in its 12th year, is open to 4-H
club members, FFA members
and high school agricultural stu-
dents.
Designed to test dairy knowl
edge in a variety of areas, the
contest provides a well-rounded
approach to dairy leaders of the
future, according to Dr. Carl
Brown, chairman of the
Advisory Committee for the con
test.
Brown said, “The contest was
