slaughter steers and heifers sold steady
to firm Price ranges were about the
same as last week, however, firmness
was evident as the plainer-type cattle
traded higher within the ranges Slaugh

CATTLE Compared to Monday,
slaughter steers sold weak to 100
lower Holstein steers and slaughter
heifers were not well tested Sales started
out very slow and then turned spotty,
with the exception of a few fancy Prime
steers Lean slaughter cows were 50-
100 lower and the fleshier cows (less
than 85 percent lean) were I 00-2 00
lower Slaughter bulls sold weak in a
very light test Supply included 41 per
cent slaughter steers and S 3 percent
