    Pig-Tailed Teen Skips Way to Crawford Crown

kostelecky skipped her way to the
Crawford County Dairy Princess
Crown with her skit, “Future
Dairy Promoter’s First Day of
School.” The 25th annual Craw
ford County Dairy Princess Pag
eant was held at the Christ Evan
gelical Free Church, Saegertown.
Lacey is the daughter of Jeffery
and Laurie Zakostelecky of
Springboro where the family has
44 head of Brown Swiss on their
42-acre Zacs Dairy. The farm has
been in the family since one of
Lacey’s great-great-grandfathers
received it as a land grant for serv
ing in the Revolutionary War.
Lacey is the farmer in the current
generation and owns 24 head of
cattle.
She is 17. will be a junior at
Conneaut Valley High School this
fall and plans to attend college af
ter high school. Lacey is active in
softball, basketball, yearbook
staff, school newspaper staff,
Spanish club and SADD. She is an
honor student and is vice president
of the Conneaut Valley FFA. She
is a member of the Brown Swiss
Cattle Breeders Association and
the Pa. Brown Swiss Association,
attends Conneautville Baptist
Church, and serves as president of
the Conneaut Valley 4-H Club.
Lacey enjoys showing dairy
cattle, playing all sports, and a
variety of outdoor activities. Ad
ditionally. she is employed as a
part-time milker for John Greene.
Cosha Jo Naples earned the title
fo Crawford County Alternate
Dairy Princess with her humorous
skit “Squirt, Squirt, Here Comes
Crawford dairy maids include Stacey Agnew, Jessica
Baer, Sheila Payne, and Emllle Smith.

Cosha is the 17-year-old daugh
ter of Edgar and Jacquine Fox of
Meadville. She will be a senior at
Saegertown High School, after
graduation she plans to study
political science or pre-law in col
lege. Cosha is active in SADD,
Talent Search, Stand Tall and his
tory club. Outside school she is
president of the 4-H interstate ex
change club, road clean-up, and
youth group. Cosha is emloyed on
Manross Farm and Getty Farm.
Four Dairm Maids will help
Lacey and Cosha promote the
dairy industry in Crawford Coun
ty. They are Stacey Lynn Agnew,
Conneautville; Jessica Lynn Baer,
Edinboro; Sheila Marie Payne,
Springboro; and Emilie Eileen
Smith, Centerville.
The Dairy Maids presented
speeches on milk and the dairy in
dustry. Both the dairy princess
contestants and dairy maids an
swered the impromptu question:
“Congratulations you have just
been elected president of the
United States. The entire world is'
at peace and there are no wars
about to break out. Congress has
just passed a new amendment to
the constitution, as a newly
elected president you can change
one thing in the country, except
the price of milk, without having
to receive approval from anyone,
what would that one thing be and
why?” with poise.
Assisting the dairy royalty will
be Rower Girls Rachael Elizabeth
Irwin, 8, of Linesville and Alexis
Rose Caldwell, 6, of Saegertown.
Rachael enjoys promoting milk so
much that she made her own “Fu
ture Dairy Princess” Banner.
