Compared to last week: Feeder steers
and heifers 1.00-2.00 lower. Demand mod
erate for all classes. Steer and heifer calves
steady. Quality and flesh conditions com
parable to last week. Quality plain to aver
age, small end attractive. Feeder cattle in
mostly medium to moderate flesh. Weigh
ups highly varied and gaunt to full. Calf
supply mostly new crop calves in moderate
flesh. Temperatures in the upper 90's and
low 100's with hot winds sweeping across
the plains is drying out most of the state.
Ram is badly needed. Slaughter cows
1.00-2.50 lower. SlTughter bulls 1.00 low
er. Packer demand light to moderate. Total
of 500 cows and bulls sold with 60 percent
going to packers. Receipts this week 9,650;
last week 10,356; last year 7,371. Supply
consisted of 85 percent yearlings over 600
lbs; 10 percent calves; 5 percent cows and
bulls. Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis.
