Cumberland Dairy Princess Represents Big Business
BOILING SPRINGS (Cum
berland Co.) - Dairy farming is
big business in Cumberland
County. Dairy farmers produced
346 million pounds of milk last
year. That is 157.4 million
quarts. Farmers received almost
$54,224,000 for this production.
Cumberland County's milk pro
duction and value of products
ranks seventh amount the 67
Pennsylvania counties.

Rebecca Cornman, daughter
of Debbie and Steve Cornman,
Boiling Springs, was selected to
represent 295 dairy farms locat
ed in the county. Rebecca was
crowned Cumberland County.
Dairy Princess on June 12.
Rebecca is a junior at Boiling
Springs High School. Her activi
ties include cross country, track,
drama club, National Honor
Society, concert choir, church
youth group and 4-H dairy club.

Her hobbies and interest include
- showing cows, running quilting
and traveling.
The new dairy princess was
crowned by the 1997 Dairy
Princess Kristin Heberlig at the
31st Annual Cumberland
County Dairy Princess
Coronation.
Vicki Lantz, Newville, Big
Spring vocational agriculture
instructor, served as master of
ceremonies at the coronation.
The group was entertained by
the Boiling Springs High School
Men's Ensemble.
Rebecca presented her skit
and speech at the coronation,
which she will present at the
state contest in September.
Skits and readings were pre
sented by 1998 Dairy Maids,
Amy Kulick, daughter of James
and Ann Kulick, Carlisle, and
Amy Kaucher, daughter of
Bonnie Kaucher and Harold
Leib, Mechanicsburg.
More than 55 appearances
were logged by 1997 Dairy*
Princess Kristen Heberlig, and
Alternate Dairy Princess Tisha
