Notebook
Ida Risser
Here I sit listening to the
Grandfather’s clock ticking
away as I consider what to write
about today. It is something that
you will read 10 days from now.
I could mention that
goldfinch that I saw eating let
tuce in my garden this morning
or the big flock of wild geese that
flew overhead. My mind is on
the dentist appointment this
afternoon and that distracts me
too.

expected it to be more historical,
but it was well done. Afterward,
we had to drive home in a rain
storm —we’ve had several lately.
It seems that when our chil
