GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged to higher far
mediums in the Midwest, and unchanged
on the balance. The market tone was most
ly steady with mediums occasionally fully
steady. Demand was mixed, mostly mod
erate. Supplies were generally adequate.
Breaking stock supplies were adequate for
the light demand, and the market tone was
steady. Offerings of spent hens remained at
least adequate for full slaughter schedules.

DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN
SUMMARY
Grain and soybean bids advanced again
today due to crop concerns and forecasts
for hot, dry weather in the Midwest. Wheat
steady to 8 cents higher. Com steady to 3
cents higher. Sorghum 6 cents higher. Soy
beans 1 to 8 cents higher. Recent wide
spread rains across the Com Belt and right
now crops looking super for the most part.
However, scorching temperatures into the
upper 90‘s forecast for the next several d?h
blustciy winds crop conditions could deter
iorate very rapidly. This should get Winter
wheat harvest back in high gear but could
slow up double cropping of soybean? little
spurt of export orders the past couple of
weeks certainly a factor in the improved
prices. Prospects for foreign sales down the
road, not looking too bright, especially
along the Pacific Rim. ?ial envoy to China
could include talks of a Favorable Nation
Status. Also, the US and other countries are
anxious to help this part of the country in
their financial crisis. Recent price upturns
still left most commodity quotes below a
year ago, com getting close but soybeans
