Price ranges were unchanged, and the
majority of yolk sales were in an
unchanged to higher range. The market
tone was mostly steady. Demand was light
to fair. Supplies were adequate. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
ern region for the week ending June 6,
1998 were 18% more than the previous
week, and 4% less than the? last year.

Compared to last week: Feeder cattle
and calves firm to 2.00 higher. Demand
good for all classes. Numerous Brahma
cross in supply. Quality?n to average,
small end attractive. Weigh-ups average to
full. Few gaunt but these usually Brahma
cross. Flesh conditions highly varied from
thin to fleshy. Quality and conditions well
below last week. Slaughter cows 3.00-4.00
higher. Slaughter bulls 2.00 higher.
Demand very good from packets. Demand
moderate for replacement cows and pairs.
Total 420 cows and bulls sold with 60 per
cent to packets. Receipts this week 10,250;
last week 10,206; last year 9,982. Supply
consisted of 84 percent yearlings over 600
lbs; 12 percent calves; 4 percent cows and
bulls. Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis.
