CATTLE Compared to Thursday, the
bulk of slaughter steer and heifer sales
were steady The market showed many
spots of weakness on typical Choice
cattle, but at the same time numerous
packages of low dressing and heavy
weight cattle traded firm to slightly
higher There was also a large offering
of Holstein steers on hand and prices
were fully steady Slaughter cows sold
steady in a light test and a good selec
tion of slaughter bulls traded I 00
higher Supply included around 61
percent slaughter steers and 10 percent
slaughter cows

CATTLE Compared to Monday,
slaughter steer and heifer prices con
tinued steady Demand was good for
all classes, but prices rarely fell outside
of the trading range that has been fol
lowed for the last few weeks Slaughter
cows sold steady to 50 lower in active
trading There were not enough
slaughter bulls on hand for an adequate
market test Supply included 29 per
cent slaughter steers and 60 percent
slaughter cows

CATTLE; Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers sold 1.00 low
er. Losses were posted early with no signs
of recovery. The lower level was main
tained until late in the sale, when increased
weakness was evident as buyers filled their
orders and demand became lighter.
Slaughter cows were JO lower and slaugh
ter bulls traded steady to weak. This
week's supply included 59 percent slaugh
ter steers and 30 percent slaughter cows.
