Protectadrlve* A specially-designed and patented disc mounting system that normally protects the cutterbar
should a major obstacle be struck in the field. The Protectadrlve® disc mounting station can also easily be
serviced in the field without removing or disassembling the cutterbar.
Lightweight A precision formed, high strength, steel reinforced casing holds the drive components. Some
competitive cutterbars are made of heavy cast iron, adding weight which will reduce the response of the
flotation, thus increasing crop damage and wear on the machine.
Low profile The proven gear-to-gear drive allows for the lowest possible cutterbar profile. The crop is cut
cleanly and evenly with the least amount of disruption.
Long life The large gears of the Kuhn bar turn at about half the speed and with lower tooth loads compared
to shaft drive bars. This means longer life and less downtime. All moving parts are lubricated—competitive
shaft bars operate drive splines at very high speeds without any lubrication.
Easy maintenance Servicing the bar is quick and easy, with only one drain and one fill opening. Most
modular bars require service at each individual module. Internal repairs can also be performed quickly without
the need for special tools.
