NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged to higher for the
large sizes in the Southeast, Midwest, and
Boston, and unchanged elsewhere. Prices
were unchanged to lower for mediums in
the Midwest, and unchanged elsewhere.
All other prices were unchanged. The
market tone was steady to Arm for the large
sizes, and no better than steady for light
weights. Demand covered the full range
and was mostly moderate with best move
ment into retail specials. Supplies con
tinued close to adequate for the large sizes,
and adequate to ample for light sizes.
Breaking stock supplies were adequate to
fully adequate for the mixed demand, and
light weight eggs remained readily avail
able. Light type hen supplies were at least
adequate for full schedules.

Truckle* buying activity was light and
generally disappointing. Offerings were
readily available on white meat items with
sellers aggressively looking to make com
mitmnets. Dark meat product was usually
confidently held and continued to clear
well. Retail and distributive movement
was slow with optimism quickly waning.
The market tone was at best steady.
