family of western Berks County, standing before their newly constructed 450-cow facility, have been in the
dairy business since 1946. They currently farm approximately 750 acres and have 450 cows and 125
heifers. Their current herd average is over 21,000 Ibs/cow. The Hix family are members of the
Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Tulpehocken Young Farmers. John is also a township supervisor.
