Lancaster County Weekly NEW HOLLAND, PA FRIDAY MAY 29, 1998 CATTLE CALVES 2629 1517 2394 1212 2817 1477 THIS WEEK LAST WEEK LAST YEAR CATTLE: Compared to last week's closing prices, slaughter steers sold weak to cattle. The market seems to be In a post holiday slump as boxed beef and futures prices were disappointing this week. West ern feedlots had to settle for less money, again this week, to dose at mostly 63.00 live and 100.00- 102.00 dressed basis. Slaughter heifers were not well tested. Despite lower boneless beef prices, slaugh ter cows ended the week steady to 1.00 higher and slaughter bulls dosed fully steady. Supply included 55 percent slaugh ter steers, 4 percent slaughter heifers, 31 percent cows, 4 percent bulls, with the balance feeders.
