GLANCE;
Prices were unchanged to lower in the
Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest,
unchanged oo the West Coast. The market
tone was barely steady to weak. Demand
ranged light to occasionally good, mostly
light and best where features were either
planned or in progress. Supplies were
adequate to ample with the large sizes
readily available. Breaking stock supplies
were at least adequate to ample for the light
demand and the market tone was barely
steady to weak. Offerings of light type
hens were at least sufficient for processing
plants to maintain lull slaughter schedules.

Prices were unchanged. The market tone
was generally steady. Demand was mixed,
and remained mostly moderate. Supplies
were adequate. Liquid and frozen eggs
(ingredients included) processed under
federal inspection in the Eastern region for
the week ending April 25, 1998 were 3%
more than last week, and 8% mote than the
same week last year. Raw material supplies
remained adequate at about steady prices.
