He has continued his interest and sup
port of the PFGC since completing his
term on the board in 1990.
The Special Award is tbe highest
recognition given by PFGC. It is pre
sented to an individual or company
that has made a major contribution
directly to the PFGC as well as an “out
standing contribution to Pennsylvani
a’s forage and livestock industry and/
or conservation farming," Hall indi
cated. The recipient’s contribution
may have been in production agricul
ture, industry, research, extension,
teaching, or other public service. *
The award was presented by Dr.
John E. Baylor, retired forage special
ist, Penn State.
This year’s Extension Award reci
pient is Paul Craig, Dauphin County
extension agent.

well as the southeast region of Pen
nsylvania,” noted Hall.
Craig has organized and taught at
several forage-pasture related schools
in the region, including as a major
organizer and facilitator of the Pen
nsylvania grazing conferences.
“Without the help of Paul Craig, the
grazing conferences would not be the
educational force they have become,”
said Hall.
“He has always been an advocate of
multiplying his educational efforts
through the involvement of others who
work with producers.”
Along with classroom and
conference-type educational activities.
Craig has also conducted on-farm
demonstrations and field days.
