CATTLE Compared to Thursday,
slaughter steer prices were uneven,
early sales were weak to 50 lower
with stiff pressure on several packages
of heavy cattle Later sales turned
steady to firm, as attractive offerings
caused an increase in demand that ex
tended for all classes Slaughter heifers
sold mostly steady with Thursday's
light test A light supply of slaughter
cows sold steady to 50 higher and
slaughter bulls were fully steady Sup
ply included around 70 percent slaugh
ter steers and 11 percent slaughter cows

CATTLE Compared to Monday's late
sales, slaughter steers sold fully steady
Slaughter heifers were not well tested
Buyers were aggressive on a good
supply of high dressing/high yielding
cattle Slaughter cow trade was active
as prices ranged 50-1 50 higher with
the full advance noted on the Canner
and Cutter cows Slaughter bulls were
only lightly tested Supply included

graded sale and around 95 percent re
turned to the farm

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers sold steady to
weak. Buyers were more particular and
quick to penalize cattle that fell outside of a
narrow range of quality, yield, and weight.
Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly
steady with moderately active trade. Supp
ly included 44 percent slaughter steers and
33 percent slaughter cows.

CALVES: There were not enough
vealers and slaughter calves Monday for a
good test, but demand was good for both
classes and prices were largely steady.
Compared to Monday's auction on return
to farm calves, prices were sharply higher.
Both, Holstein bulls and heifers were in
very good demand. Bulls sold firm to 20.00
higher and a good offering of heifers traded
30.00-30.00 higher with little regard for
quality.
VEALERS: Good and Choice 73-100
lbs 20.00-28.00. Standard and low Goo?
63-85 lbs 15.00-20.00, few dowm to 11.00.
SLAUGHTER CALVES: Couple Good
and Choice 300-330 lbs 83.00-93.00; few
330-300 lbs 63.00-83.00.
RETURNED TO FARM: Holstein bulls
90-135 lbs 85.00-120.00, few to 127.00.
Plainer calves 80-120 lbs 30.00-85.00,
weaker calves 63-90 lbs 23.00-40.00.
Holstein heifers 85-125 lbs 120.00-180.00.

SHEEP: Compared to Monday's auc
tion, wooled slaughter lambs and aged
slaughter sheep sold mostly steady to S.OO
lower. New crop lambs were uneven, those
under 40 lbs sold sharply lower but 40-60
lb lambs were sharply higher. Heavier
weights sold fully steady to S.OO higher.
This auction, for the most part, wraps-up
the Easter buying season.
