Looks For Committee Members
STATE COLLEGE (Centre
Co.) - The Pennsylvania
Holstein Association will be
selecting members to serve on
various state committees for the
next two years. There are four
(4) Standing Committees for
which members are needed.
The Committees and Their
Duties are:
1) Activities: The purpose of
this committee is to evaluate
current membership, design
programs to increase member
ship and promote the benefits of
membership in the Association.
The committee shall establish
the membership goals, the mem
bership timetable, and the mem
bership awards and recogni
tions. The committee shall also
be responsible for various educa
tional programs, dairy promo
tion efforts and publications
sponsored by the Association.
2) Sale: The purpose of this
committee is to develop plans for
the Association sponsored con
signment sales and help carry
out those plans.
3) Show: The purpose of this
committee is to develop, plan
and regulate the state and
regional shows including main-

Location- from Somerset, take rte 31 E to the village of Roxbury, turn on rte 160 N or from
Bedford, take rte 30 W to Reels Corner and follow 160 S to the Scott Farm. Sale located near the
village of Shanksville, Somerset County, PA. J
HERD consists of 70 milking and dry cows with 15 springing heifers. DHIA rha 23,056, 876 f, 731 p.
Presently shipping 9400 lbs. milk from 58 cows. This herd is milking 78.4 lbs. per cow with 10 cows
milking from 100 to 142 lbs. SCC for March is 81,000. AI sired and serviced. This herd has extremely
good feet and udders. No BST and no TRM’s to make these records. Fed all home produced feed. All
are home raised and a good, clean young herd of cows. TB and Bangs tested and vaccinated. The Scott
family has been dairying on the same farm for 135 years and has built up an outstanding Holstein herd.
