Weekly NEW HOLLAND, PA FRIDAY MARCH 13, 1998 CATTLE THIS WEEK LAST WEEK LAST YEAR CATTLE: Compared to last week's closing prices, the slaughter steer market ended with steady prices this week. Slaughter heifer prices showed strength at the beginning of the trading period, only to drop off by Thursday. Demand was mod erate for slaughter heifers in spite of the limited offerings for the week. Slaughter cow price levels were for the most pan steady with last week. Prices for the fleshy cows ended firm, while'lean cow prices were slightly lower for the higher dressing cows. Price levels for slaughter bulls began the week steady but ended 1.00-2.00 lower. Supply included 43 percent slaughter steers, 7 percent slaughter heifers, 40 per cent cows, 4 percent bulls, with the balance feeders.
