Takes Top Honors
EVANSVILLE, Wis. W-L
Research has announced that W-L
alfalfa varieties have once again
taken top honors, including the
world’s grand champion award, at
the 1997 World’s Forage Super
bowl.
The Forage Superbowl is part
of the World Dairy Expo, held
OcL 1-5 in Madison, Wis.
This year’s victory represents
the second time in the last three
years that a W-L variety has won
the world’s grand champion
award.
Joshua Kamps of Darlington,
Wis. captured the 1997 Grand
Champion Award with an entry of
material and pull it away from the
outside edges, fill and level. Four
sizes are available in widths of 5,
6,7, and 8 feet for category 1
three-point hitch tractors.
WL 322 HQ that came in with
crude protein of 24.3 percent and a
relative feed value of 208.
With only 12 percent of the to-
tal entries in this year’s contest,
< W-L alfalfa varieties showed their
true colors by capturing wins in
three of the five major Forage
Superbowl categories, including
world’s grand champion (Joshua
Kamps), commercial hay cham
pion (Charles Miehe, Belmont,
Wis.), and commercial baleage
grand champion (Wade Wendhau
sen of Livingston, Wis.). To cap
off W-L’s strong showing at this
year’s Forage Superfoowl, Ken
Jeanquart of Casco, Wis. took
