Movement of teady-to-cook whole birds
was light and typical of mid-week activity.
Seller offerings were in a range of balanced
to ample and were in the longer position on
the larger sizes. Live supplies were mostly
moderate; weights continued to vary in a
full range of light to heavy. Processing
schedules were moderately heavy. Less
than trucklot asking prices were unchanged
at 51 to 65 cents. Trade sentiment
remained no better than steady. In the parts
complex, all items were generally noted as
at least adequate and inquiry was seasonal
ly light and unaggressive.

Prices were unchanged. The market tone
remained mostly steady. Demand was mix
ed, and mostly fair. Supplies continued
adequate. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingre
dients included) processed under federal
inspection in the Eastern region for the
week ending February 21, 1998 were 3%
less than the previous week, and 3% more
than the same week last year. Raw material
supplies were generally adequate for the
light to fair demand, but extra offers
decreased, and the undetone was steady to
instances firm.
