Agent One Of Three Honored

Fecon, agricultural agent with
Rutgers Cooperative Extension
of Gloucester County, recently
received the Agribusiness Man
of the Year Award from the New
Jersey Agribusiness Association.
Frecon was honored for his
educational programs on agri
chemicals used in agriculture.
Frecon was presented the
awards at the annual meeting of
the 240 member New Jersey
Agribusiness Association in
December at the Holiday Inn in
Swedesboro.
Presenting a plaque and pre
senting Frecon a citation was
Richard Grant, president of the
association. Grant said Jerry
Frecon has been a proactive
force in educating the public and
others on agrichemical use and
safety. He has spoken frequent
ly and written and lectured reg
ularly on the importance of agri
chemical use in agricultural pro
duction.

activities, Frecon has served the”

extension specialist in entomolo

Extension, was also presented

Association's Heritage Award for
his long-time service and educa
tional efforts. Vasvary was rec
ognized for his years of chairing
and organizing the Rutgers Pest
Control Conference and for his
many publications on pest con
trol and pesticide application.
Vasvary was an educator in pes
ticide use for almost 33 years.
The New Jersey Agribusiness
Associations' Business of the
Year Award was awarded to the
Tri-County Cooperative
Association and its manager, Ed
