NATIONAL EGO MARKET - AT A
GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged to higher for the
large sizes and mediums in the South,
unchanged to higher for the large sizes in
the Northeast and Midwest, and unchanged
on the balance. The market tone remained
steady to firm, and was strongest for the
large sizes. Demand ranged from light to
good with the best movement on large
sizes into retail channels. Supplies were
tight to instances fully adequate and avail
able, and both graded and nest tun large
sizes remained in the tightest position.
Breaking stock supplies were about adequ
ate for the mixed demand and prices
increased in the Central States area. Light
type fowl offerings were at least adequate
for the fair to good demand.

was good and generally exceeded mid
week expectations. Offerings were in a
range of fully adequate to instances short.
Live supplies were mostly moderate;
weights were mixed and irregular. Process
ing schedules were moderate to moderately
heavy. Less than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 47 to 61 cents. Trade
sentiment was mostly steady. In the parts
complex, inquiry centered mainly on well
balanced to short supplies of wings and
breast cuts. Leg quarters were adequate to
fully adequate.
