ly Cattle Summary
Compared to last week: Feeder cattle
and calves firm to 2.00 higher. Demand
moderate to good on ail classes and greatly
improved from last week. Receipts well
below normal as gathering and transport
ing cattle difficult due to soft field condi
tions. Weather has been fight drizzle and
overcast with warmer than normal temper
atures for past two weeks. Quality general
ly average, however several attractive
feeders off wheat Wdgh-ups gaunt to
average.
Feeder cattle in medium to moderate wheat
flesh; calves in slightly thin to medium
flesh condition. Slaughter cows 1.00-1.50
higher. Slaughter bulls 2.50 higher.
Demand good for light receipts. Total of
320 cows and bulls sold with 75 percent
going to packets. Receipts this week 4,850,
last week 6,907; last year 1,170. Supply
consisted of 69 percent yearlings over 600
lbs; 24 percent calves under 600 lbs; 7 per
cent cows and bulls. Prices follow with
weighted average weight and price in
parenthesis.
