last morning of the Farm
Show week were added

costumed character
mascots from two of the
supporting
businesses Moss’s
new mascot, “Moss
Man,” was also on hand,
as was the pig for Mat
field Quality Meats.
After Kosiorek
received his record
setting price for the
steer, Hatfield Quality
Meats paid $5,200 for
the grand champion
swine shown by Keri
Connelly of Pennsylva
nia Furnace.
Lebanon Valley
National Bank and
Susan and Glen Sansom
of Kessler’s Inc. in
Lemoyne, combined to
pay $2,500 for the grand
champion lamb, exhi
bited by Heidi Svonavec
of Rockwood.
The reserve champ
ion steer, shown by
Katie Hummel of Sun
bury, was also pur
chased by Hoss’s, for
$2,000.
Janine Winebark,
daughter of Kenneth
and Janet Winebark of
Myerstown, showed
this year’s reserve grand
champion market
swine, a purebred
Hampshire.
Janine received spe
cial mention by Bach
man because it was she
who donated the total
amount from the sale of
her 1993 grand champ
ion swine
$lO,OOO —to help
start the scholarship
fund.
She received $2,200
from Hoss’s Steak and
Sea House for the
animal.
The reserve champ
ion market lamb was
shown by Luke Svo
navec, brother of Heidi,
aigl was purchased for
$l,lOO by Greg Kirk
ham with Old Guard
Insurance.
The sale totals and
averages were not avail
able by presstime.
