SLAUGHTER FOR JANUARY 9. 1998*
Movement at ready-to-eook whole birds
was generally noted as good and centered
mainly on a diort aopply of 3.0 to 4.0
pound sizes. Live supplies were moderate;
weights were mostly desirable to heavy.
Processing schedules were moderate to
heavy. Leas than tmcklot asking prices
were 1 cent higher at 51 to 6S cents. Trade
sentiment was firm. In the parts complex,
wings were short of an active demand.
Drumsticks were no mote than adequate.
Breasts and other leg items were in a range
of adequate to fully adequate at most
plants.
