He said that joining and participating through the FFA really shows that, “Whatever you put into it, you will receive back.” He said he intends to pursue a four-year large animal science degree at Delaware Valley College. Jeff Slawson Jeff Slawson, 17, son of Thomas and Marylin Slawson of Genesee, is currently the student advisor at the Headwaters FFA Chapter, of which he’s been a member for five years. He has been a member of the HB-2004-OMIO 2000 - 3.6 5.0 HP/230V/10 Future chapter’s Citrus, Safety, Donkey Basket ball, and Program of Work committees. He lists his projects as on-farm work, and work at Fox Hill Farms in Ulysses. He has won awards in aquaculture proficiency, in a forestry contest, and as a member of their soil judging team. He earned his Gteenhand and Chapter degrees. He said he is hoping to earn a baseball scholar ship, and plans to pursue additional educa tion to qualify for operating heavy equip ment, or if a scholarship become avail able, then perhaps seek a teaching degree. He said that being in FFA was enjoyable and gave him the opportunity to work with computers and in a shop. “It was every thing that I enjoyed," he said. He also said he enjoy other FFA and associated events.
