Lesher “I enjoy the aspect of being around other teens who all have one similarity,” said four-year Line Mountain/ Mahantan go FFA member Joy Lesher. “They love agriculture. FFA’ers respect, honor, and cherish agriculture and agri- cultural opportunities throughout the world!” Joy plans to attend Delaware Valley College to major in dairy science and become a veterinarian. She is chapter president and has served as vice president. She is the SUN Area vice president. In addition, Joy has served on various committees, including Food For America as chairman and on the ice cream party, banquet, and chicken bar becue committees. Joy has completed projects in dairy herd. She received the chapter Greenhand, chapter Star Fanner, county Star Farmer, and won several awards, including a sec ond place in the state public speaking con test and a third in the state dairy show manship event. She also received her SUN Area degree. Eric C. Levengood Four-year Northern Lebanon FFA member Eric Levengood enjoys horse judging at area contests. Future plans include “riding bulls, racing cars, and pos sibly starting a family,” he noted. Eric, 17, is the son of Eric Levengood, Jonestown. He is assistant student adviser. In addition, he has served on the lab, recre ation, and community service committees. He has completed projects in pleasure horses and community service. Eric also won awards in horse judging, farm busi ness management, and livestock. He received his Greenhand, chapter, and county degrees. Four-year Central Cove FFA member Adam Longenecker, president of the chapter, noted that he enjoys “being with and working around my friends.” Adam, 18, is the son of Harold and Lin da Longenecker, Williamsburg. He plans to work on family farm. Adam has saved on the leadership, executive, budget, and citrus committees. He has completed on-farm work experi ence projects and beef finishing. He received awards for grand champion steer and for public speaking. He received his Greenhand and chapter degrees. Dale Longwell “I enjoy learning about agriculture and agricultural opportunities be cause I enjoy agri culture,” noted two-year Lenape AVTS member Dale Longwell. Dale, 18, is the son of Jerry and Pat Longwell, Kittat ag. plans to attend Penn State, is chapter president. Additionally, Dale has served on the planning, budget, and Pioneer Festival committees. He completed projects in sheep and crops. He won scholarship and livestock judging awards and received the chapter fanner and Greenhand honors.
