Veteran birder and Irvine Nature Center naturalist Rob Mardiney shares slides and insights into attracting birds to the garden. •February 10, 1998 Designing with Native Plants, 7- 9 pm, $lO, closes 2/5/98. Carol Allen, vice president of the Maryland Native Plant Society and seasoned gardener, discuss es some familiar and many unfa miliar; beautiful native plants that are naturally suited to Maryland gardens. •February 25, 1998 Houseplants; The Succulent Story (also a plant clinic), 7:30-9 pm, $7, closes 2/23/98. Share" a’ delightfully informative and entertaining evening with enthusiastic and experience hor ticulturist Dr. Michael Barretti. The houseplant category of the day will be succulents (cacti, jade, aloe, etc.). Bring plants along for diagnosis and evalua tion.
