NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged to higher. The
market tone was fully steady to Arm.
Demand tanged moderate to very good,
mostly good, as retailers and distributois
readied for anticipated pre-holiday con
sumer traffic. Widespread feature activity
at attractive prices was noted throughout
most areas. Supplies were short to adequ
ate with mediums in the tightest position in
some areas. Breaking stock supplies were
barely adequate to adequate from tegular
seances and additional shell egg offerings
were limited. Spent hen availability was
generally adequate for full slaughter
requirements.

SUMMARY
Wheat bids were slightly lower on good
crop condition in winter wheat and light
export demand. Com bids continued to
decline, pressured by profit taking on the
board and active harvest. Soybean bids,
however, finished sharply higher as private
analysts* raise production estimates from
2.7 to 2.8 billion bushels. Wheat I to 4
cents lower. Com 1 to 2 cents lower. Sorg
hum 3 to 7 cents lower. Soybeans 6 to 11
cents higher.
