But to avoid getting stung by a lack of knowledge, be ginners need reliable sources of information and sound scientific advice on management practices. But with challenges posed by parasitic mites, diseases and market competition from im ports, beekeeping isn’t as simple as it used to be.” To help prospective beekeepers get started, the association will offer a seminar for beginners on the afternoon of Nov. 14. Work shops will address the biology of bees, management through the seasons, mite and disease manage ment, and honey production. During the workshops on Nov.
