USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN
SUMMARY
Wheat bids closed mixed after a higher
opening. Com and soybean bids continued
to climb higher on fund buying and good
overnight com export sales. Wheat mixed.
Com 5 to 11 cents higher. Sorghum 11 to
IS cents higher. Soybeans I to 6 cents
higher. Wheat bids received some weak
ness due to good crop conditions and slow
export sales. USDA has rated the US wint
er wheat crop as 70 percent in good condi
tion, 26 percent fair and 4 percent poor to
vety poor. In the key hard red winter wheat
producing slate of Kansas, the crop was
rated 80 percent good to excellent, 19 per
cent fair and I percent poor to very poor.
Soft wheat showed some strength on over
night export demand. Com and soybean
bids climbed higher again due to some
fund buying on the board and carryover
strength from Tuesday’s higher close.
Good export demand for com overnight
offered additional support to bids. Con
tinued harvest pressure, however, limited
gains in com and soybeans.
