She will show the lamb this fall at the Louisville show. Jaime also placed second in the lead line competition, as well as, champion Southdown ram. The sisters own a total of 25 sheep on their family’s Sulfur Run Farm. Denise and Debby Deal of Dou ble Bar D farm, Akron, Ohio, ex hibited the reserve champion ram, a spring lamb, and placed first in ewe, early spring lamb class. The sisters also placed fourth in the ex hibitor’s flock competition in the open show. Hope’s Hampshires, Knoxville, Md., took reserve champion ewe honors and placed second in exhi bitor’s flock. Rambouillet Show Greenwood-Jackman Farm, Richmond, Mich, showed the grand champion ram at the Ram bouillet breeding sheep open show. The champion was a spring ram. They also showed the first place exhibitor’s flock and first place pair of yearling ewes. Reserve champion ram, “A Jos lin 96-35,” was shown by 20-year old Amy Joslin, a junior at Ohio State University. Joslin was a 4-H’er for 11 years and has shown at KILE for eight years. The ram was champion at the junior show here last year, was reserve champ ion at the 1997 Ohio and Indiana State Fairs and was supreme champion at the 1997 Shelby County Fair. Joslin is the daughter of Woody and Ann Joslin, Maple wood, Ohio. She also showed the grand champion ewe at last year’s KILE. Grand champion ewe, an early spring lamb, was shown by Powell Rambouillets, Rome, who were named premier breeder and exhi bitor. The ewe wsts reserve champion at the Big E in West Springfield, Mass, .where Powell Rambouillets also were named premia 1 exhibitor and breeder. At KILE they also showed first place pair of ewe lambs, first place fall lamb, and first place pair of ram lambs. Last year Powells showed champion and reserve champion ram, and reserve champion ewe at KILE. Doris Powell said her fami ly has been showing since the be ginning of KILE and has been pre mier exhibitor for the past three years. Shropshire Show Nine-year-old John Mark Bri gich, Canonsburg, showed the grand champion Shropshire in the junior breeding sheep show. The spring ewe lamb was one of four 4-H projects animals he brought to the show in his first year as a member of the Hickory Ag 4-H Club. The lamb was champion at the Washington County fair earlier this year. Brigich’s sister Jessica Lynn also showed a spring ewe lamb which placed second to her bro ther’s. Their parents are Mark and Audra Brigich, who have about 33 sheep on their Brigich Shropshire farm. The grand champion was bred by the Brigich family. Reserve champion Shropshire ewe went to Jesse Rohrer, Melrose Acres, Sharpsburg, Md., with their yearling ewe. Rohrer showed the champion ram in the junior breeding sheep show, a spring ram lamb. Paul Jo Gevin, Cochranton, with the second place spring ram lamb, “Gevin Mcaho 97-130.” A 4-H’er for 10 years. 17-year-old Gevin is the daughter of Milo and Margaret Gevin and owns 20 sheep. She was busy at KILE, being named second runner-up in the Lamb and Wool Queen contest, and partici pating in the Shepherd’s Lead Line competition.
