A show ring veteran in his final
year of 4-H swept top honors at
the Mifflin County Youth and
Open Dairy Show in Recdsville
recently.

Farms near Reedsville earned su
preme, grand, and senior champ
ion, best udder and best bred and
owned awards with his 4-year-old
Recd-Gap Starbuck Enchantment.
Reed’s 5-year-old, Reed-Gap
Triple Threat Lida*RC, won re
serve grand and reserve senior
champion. Reed’s final entry into
the ring was to accept the premier
exhibitor and premier breeder
banners.
Earlier in the show, two first
year 4-H’ers took junior and re
serve junior champion honors.
Kristi Sellers of Belleville entered
Hike-Em-Up D Star Abby, a
spring calf sired by Darks tar, to
earn the junior champion trophy.
J. Dane Click, also of Belle
ville, earned reserve junior
champion with his summer year
ling, Glickdale Skybuck Raisin.
In the colored shows, Andy
Lineberry’s Ayrshires earned
junior and reserve junior champ
ion honors.
Jessica Filson’s Brown Swiss
earned grand champion and re
serve junior champion rosettes,
while Christopher Uhland won
reserve grand champion, junior
champion, and best bred and
owned.
Melissa Gro’s Jersey took the
grand champion title while Amy
Filson won reserve champion hon
ors. Gro’s winter calf was selected
as best animal bred and owned.
Two Linebacks made their
debut this year. Jacob Savitts of
Milroy entered a summer yearling
Lineback for a blue ribbon. Chel
sea Wagner, also of Milroy,
entered a Gloucester winter dairy
calf. Wagner earned grand champ
ion while Savitts took reserve
champion.
During the awards ceremony,
the Ora Sunderland 4-H Awards

for excellence went to Christopher
Uhland of Lewistown and Rachel
Sellers of Belleville. Afterwards,
friends and family members of the
late Erika Bell planted a tree at the
Mifflin County Youth Park in her
honor. Bell, an active member of
the Vira 4-H Club, was killed in a
car accident in July.
