Six high school students, who are beginning a four-year bache lors degree program this fall, were awarded PennAg scholarships. These recipients are as follows: Brenton Good, of Ephrata, received a $ 1000 PennAg scholar ship. Having graduated from Ephrata High School this spring, he will be attending Messiah Col lege, Grantham. Good will major in art with a concentration in illustration. Preston Hoover, of Lebanon, is a 1997 graduate of Annville- Cleona High School. A $5OO scholarship recipient, he will major in mass communications at Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y. Mindy Oplinger, of Irwin, will be attending Westmoreland Coun ty Community College this fall. Oplinger is a 1997 graduate of Penn Trafford High School. She was awarded a $5OO scholarship. Having received a $lOOO Pcn nAg scholarship, April Rockwell, of Canton, will be attending Pen nsylvania State University, Uni versity Park. She will work toward a bachelor of arts degree in special education. Rockwell graduated from Canton Area Junior/Senior High School this past June. Kristen Slcpecki, of Oakdale, graduated from West Allegheny High School and will be attending Fairmont State College, Fairmont, W. Va., this fall. She will study V •V UQULIi international business/criminal justice. Slepecki was awarded a $5OO scholarship. Craig Weirich, of Mountville, is a $lOOO PennAg scholarship reci pient Attending DeVry Institute of Technology, Columbus, OH, this fall, he will be majoring in electronics engineering technolo gy. Weirich is a 1997 Hempfield High School graduate. The following college students received a $5OO PennAg scholarship: A 1994 Hemp Geld High School graduate, Kirk Englert, of Mount Joy, attends the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, and is majoring in mechanical engineering. Katie Evanchalk, of Pine Grove, graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1995. She is a Delaware Valley College, Doy lestown, student who is working towared a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness. Kevin Slepecki, of Oakdale, is a 1996 graduate of West Allegheny High School who is now attending Albright College, in Reading. Slepecki is working toward a dou ble major: computer science and business administration. Thea Stockdale, of Waynes burg, attends Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Clarion, and is majoring in anthropology and art. She graduated from Waynesburg Central High School in 1993. PennAg Industries Association, founded in 1878 with headquar ters in Ephrata, Lancaster County, is a non-profit Pennsylvania trade organization with approximately 450 state members.
