Northeast 4-H Dairy Show Marks 50th Year

MILLPORT (Potter County)
The Potter County fairgrounds was
the site of the 50lh annual North
east Pennsylvania 4-H District
Dairy Show.
About 130 entries competed at
the show, judged by Bob Morrell
of Cochranton, with over half of
the animals qualifying for state
competition.
The grand champion Holstein
was senior 2-year-old Wellyn Lin
dy Joy, owned by Rachel Bach
man. Trisha Mcllwain’s junior
2-year-old, Cha-Do Encore Tasha,
followed as the reserve grand
champion.
Named junior champion in the
Holstein ring was junior calf Cha
Do Charles Stardt T Vanna. The
reserve junior champion of the
Holstein show was Courtney
Worthington’s summer yearling,
Spring Mountain Jed Jiffy.
Brian Sharer claimed the grand
champion Ayrshire award with his
5-year-old, Bonnieshade JJ Clov
er. Named reserve grand champion
was Bradley Wales’s Blue Devils
Star Buttercup, an 8-year-old cow.
Among the Ayrshire heifers,
Brian Sharer’s fall yearling, Glen
Malcolm Senior’s Jewel 2, earned
the junior champion title. Stefanie
Long’s spring calf, Shale Hill Sol
dier Ruby, was named the reserve
junior champion.
In the Brown Swiss ring, Jason
Butler’s dry cow, Bo Ka Blend
Maria, was named the grand
champion. Kaitlyn Kosa’s 4-year
old, Elm Brook Aytola Andrea,
was named the reserve grand
champion.

Inman, was named junior champ
ion. Fall calf Rocky Slope RL Ele
Faith, owned by Lisa Fitch, was
named the reserve junior
champion.
Lilac’s Perfect Love, a junior
3-year-old owned by Elaina Kosa,
was the only Guernsey shown and
was designated the grand champ
ion of the show.
Normandell Jedd Payge, a
senior 3-year-old owned by Cath
leen Norman, was designated the
grand champion of the Jersey
show. For his reserve grand
champion, Morrell picked Kim
Barker’s junior 2-year-old, Jer-
Sweet Jenks Laurel Lea.
The junior champion of the
Jersey show was Kim Barker’s fall
yearling, GR Jer-Sweet Malcolm
Alana. The reserve junior champ
ion was Ellen Norman’s summer
yearling, Normandell Barber Jena.

Bradley Wales showed the grand

junior champion and reserve grand
champion.
