TIMONIUM, Md. Beef,
sheep, and swine went through the
sale ring here during the livestock
sale at the Maryland State Fair.
Nineteen market steers aver
aged 90 cents per pound. The
grand champion market steer, a
1,220-pound crossbred shown by
Jennifer Wildcsen of Carroll
County, sold to STOP Corpora
tion for $2.10 per pound. The re
serve grand champion owned by
Eric Stonesifer of Howard County
brought $1.20 per pound from Tri
ple Creek Farms/James Hudson.
The steer weighed 1,300 pounds.
Ryan Downey of Washington
County sold his 1,300-pound
grand champion dairy steer to
Wheeler’s DD Trucking for 65
cents per pound. The champion
Hereford steer exhibited by Pat
rick Mullinix of Howard County
brought $1.50 per pound from Tate Chevrolet
Geo/Ray Howes, and weighed 1,270 pounds.
Jesse Amoss of Carroll County sold his
I.ISS-pound reserve champion Simmental
steer to J. Howard Merideth & Son for 80
cents per pound.
Market hogs averaged $1.63 on 35 lots.
Heather Rynarzewski of Howard County sold
her grand champion 265-pound hog to Green
Turtle of Ocean City for $3.75 per pound. The
reserve grand champion market hog exhibited
by Cortney Hill-Dukehart of Howard County
also weighed 265 pounds and sold to Hatfield
Quality Meats for $2 per pound.
