Live supplies were mostly moderate;
weights varied but were mostly desirable.
Processing schedules were moderately
heavy. Las than tnicklot asking prices
were unchanged at 60 to 74 cents. Trade
sentiment was steady to hilly steady. In the
parts complex, bone-in breasts were in
short supply. Boneless skinless breasts var
ied from hilly adequate to closely cleared.
Wings were no more than adequate at sev
eral points. Leg quarters were adequate to
hilly adequate.

Yolk prices were unchanged, albumen
prices were unchanged to lower, and whole
egg prices were generally unchanged to
slightly higher. The trade sentiment was
about steady. Demand was mostly
/=kderale. Floor stocks of finished pro
ducts were adequate. Raw material costs
were generally unchanged, and shell egg
supplies were adequate to hilly adequate.
Some plants ran overtime to process the
volume of shell eggs available. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the East
ern region for the week ending August 16,
1997 were 3% more than last week, and
15% more than the tame week last year.
