'A ounce lye - '/« cup cold water 'A cup lukewarm fat 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional) In a plastic container, gently stir lye into cold water with wooden spoon. Slowly add lukewarm fat. Continue to stir until slightly thickened. Add lemon juice, stirring to mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into plastic molds. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 24 hours. Remove soap from molds and allow to air dry for 14 days. Yield: 1-2 medium bars. Basic Perfumed Hand Soap 5 cups rain or soft water 'A cup powdered borax 11.6 ounces lye 11 cups fat Add a trace: 1 ounce strawberry dye 2 ounces lanolin 3 ounces glycerin 3 tablespoons finely ground oatmeal 4 teaspoons aromatic rose geranium Follow directions for other soap recipe.
