Maryland FFA Forestry CDE
The Clear Spring FFA chapter
won the first place plaque in the
forestry contest held July 17 at
Allegany Community College.
The forestry contest is spon
sored by West VaCo Corporation
as a special project of the Mary
land FFA Foundation.
The high scoring individual for
the forestry competition was Sara
Cramer of the Brunswick FFA
chapter. The Flints tone chapter
took the second place plaque in
the contest
Members of the Clear Spring
first place team are Steve Resh,
CDE superintendent Sue Lowery,
FFA adviser. Sherry Riggleman,
Justin Michael, Matt Michael,
Paul Kelly and Terrie Shank, FFA
adviser.

ond place team arc Steve Resh,
CDE superintendent, Lucas Mal
low, Carig Cessna, Erika Heavner,
and Lee Heavner, FFA adviser.
According to Contest Superin
tendent Steve Resh, there were
seven teams with 21 members
participating. Contestants were
asked to identify ties, wood, tools,
and take a written exam as part of
the contest Lee Heavner of the
Flintstone FFA Chapter was the
teacher chairperson and super
vised scoring.
The winning teams in the Fore
stry CDE were 1. Clear Spring, 2.
Flintstone, 3. Brunswick.
Participants receiving Gold
Medal awards were Sara Cramer,
first; Mike Jones, second; and
Sherry Riggleman, third.
