SHIPPENSBURG (Franklin
Co.) If Justin Burdette was out
to prove something, he certainly
achieved his goal during the South
Central Pennsylvania Champion

burg Fairgrounds.
In fact, the Mercersburg youth
took home a suitcase full of
awards from the competition.
For starters, he took home the
best animal bred and owned by an
exhibitor award with his five

Also with that animal, Burdette
captured the grand champion and
youth grand champion awards.
The reserve grand and reserve
senior champion honors were won
by Penn Gate Farm of Littlestown
with its junior three-year-old Penn
Gate Raider Clara B.
The Premier breeder and exhi
bitor awards went to Penn State
Farm for Steve and Chris Woods.
Windy-Knoll-View Krisma, the
four-year-old of Amanda Cessna
of Everett, was tapped for the
youth reserve grand champion and
the youth reserve senior champion
awards.
The best three females competi
tion was won by Windy-Knoll-
View Holsteins of Mercerburg,
with Penn Gate Farm coming in
second and Tower-Vue Holsteins
of Carlisle finishing in third place.
Burdett was back in the win-
nings during the junior competi
tion as well.
With his fall yearling Windy-
Knoll-View JJB Pizow, he won
the junior champion and youth
junior champion honors.
The reserve junior champion
was Tri-Day Beautiful Adeen-ET,
the spring calf of New Direction
Holsteins of Elizabethtown.
Amy Trimmer of East Berlin
had the youth reserve junior
champion with her spring yearling
JCY April Starbuck ET.
The winner of the junior best
three females contest was Windy-
Knoll-View, while McCullough
Farms of Newville finished in sec
ond place.
The judge for the show was
John Burket of East Freedom.
