Entries Total 140 Head At Tioga Junior Dairy Show

Two sets of sisters shared four
Jersey champion positions at the
1997 Tioga County Junior Dairy
Show held here Aug. 6.
Christie Wilcox showed the
grand champion Jersey, Duncan’s
Dollar Nina Noel, the first place
aged cow. She was flanked by
Cathleen Norman’s senior 3-year
old, Normandell Jedd Payge, who
was named the reserve grand
champion of the show.
Among the junior animals,
Samantha Wilcox walked into the
top spot with her summer yearling,
Eastmont Aaron Demi. In the
reserve junior champion position
was Ellen Norman with her sum
mer yearling, Normandell Barber
Jena.
The show, which boasted a total
of 140 entries, was judged by Alan
Chittenden of Shodack Landing,
N.Y. and Paul Miller of Hanris
burg. Pa.
In the Holstein show, Cha-Do
Stardust Twinkle-TW paraded her
way to the grand champion spot
The senior 2-year-old champion is
owned by Trisha Mcllwain.
Named reserve grand champion of
the show was Olivia Courtney’s
Esßem Vanguard Dell Dede, an
aged cow.
Trisha Mcllwain also took
junior champion honors with her
spring yearling, Cha-Do Charles
Stardt T-Vanna. A summer year
ling, Spring Mountain Jed Jiffy,
owned by Courtney Worthington
was named the reserve junior
champion of the day.
Bradley Wales filled three of the
four champion positions in the
Ayrshire show including the grand
and reserve grand champion and
the reserve junior champion slots.
Named grand champion was Blue
Devils Star Buttercup, an aged
cow and named reserve grand
champion was his 4-year-old,
Blue-Devils Daisy 3SK.
The junior champion and

class. Stefanie Long took the

In the Brown Swiss show, Mark
Inman topped the other exhibitors
with his dry cow. Rocky Slope RL
Blend Tulsa. In the reserve grand
champion position was Jason But
ler with his dry cow. Bo Ka Blend
Maria.

David Kriner showed both the
grand and reserve grand champion
Guernseys at the show. Castle’s
Dairy Patsy, a junior 3-year-old,
topped the show, while Castles
King Flash Gloria, a dry cow,
stood in the reserve champion
position.
The junior champion of the
Guernsey show was Leroydale
Stars Reba, owned by Jordy
Mcllwain.
In a small Milking Shorthorn
show, Michael Pierce showed the
grand champion with his 4-year
old, Honey. The reserve grand
champion was Kuszmar Nancy
Soo, owned by Bradley Wales.
