Horses From Across U.S
To Gather In Quentin
QUENTIN (Lebanon Co.)
Approximately 600 horses and
their riders and drivers from as far
away as Texas will compete at the
63rd annual Quentin Fall Horse
Show in Quentin, Aug. 28 to Sept
1.
The event showcases a number
of breeds, disciplines, and styles
of riding, and fills two and at
times three rings with exciting
equestrian competition each day
of the Labor Day Weekend.
Spectators are invited to bring
lawn chairs and a picnic to enjoy
ringside as the horses, including
jumpers, hunters, Saddlebreds,
Morgans, roadsters and Hackney
ponies, and their riders and drivers
compete. The show also offers a
playground for children, a food
court, and shopping.
Competitors include children
and adults, amateurs and pro
fessionals. Classes begin early
each morning and continue well
into the evening each day except
Monday, Sept 1. when there is no
evening session. Hunters and jum
pers compete daily on the flat and
over fences during daylight hours,
with under saddle and harness
classes for Saddlebred, Morgans,
roadsters, and Hackney ponies
each evening, Thursday through
Saturday.

main ring, where the evening
begins with a jumper champion
ship, followed by competition
under saddle and in harness for
Saddlebreds, Morgans, and road

The $7,500 Quentin Mini-Prix,
a timed class over fences, will be
held Sunday evening, Aug. 31.
Also on Sunday, classes for hun
ters and jumpers ridden by ama
teurs and children will be held in
three rings beginning at 8 a.m.
The show begins at 8 a.m. daily
and daytime classes continue
throughout most of the day. Eve
ning sessions begin at 7 p.m.
Thursday and Sunday, Aug. 28
and 31. and at 6 p.m. Friday and
Saturday, Aug. 29 and 30. The
show continues until at least 10
p.m. each evening except Mon
day.
Admission to the grounds is $l,
and $3 Saturday and Sunday,
August 30 and 31. Box seats in the
covered grandstands are available
for $5 per day on a space available
