its livestock competition.
Following is a list of show
placings.
BEEF RESULTS
The Junior Beef Showmanship
competition was held Aug. 5 at the
Wayne County Fairgrounds.
The competition took place in
the large show arena and had 28
competitors in the event Judge for
the shoe was Dr. Jim Diamond of
Pennsylvania Furnace.
The overall grand champion
showman was Timothy Olver of
Tri-Gal 4-H club. The reserve
grand champion showman was
Kendall Miller of Pleasant Mount
Go-Getters 4-H club.

was Jimmie Ann Chyle and the
reserve champion showman was
Jessica Chyle. Both of these
4-H’ers are from the Cold Springs
- Rileville 4-H Club.

Wayne County Posts Show Results
7 at the Wayne County Fair
grounds in Honesdale. There were
23 animals at the event and the
judge for the evening was Ken
Winebaik of Meyers town.
The grand champion steer was
shown by Kyle Miller of the Plea
sant Mount Go-Getters club and
the reserve grand champion steer
was shown by Kendall Miller, also
of the Pleasant Mount Go-Getters
Club.

SWINE SHOW
The 1997 4-H Swine Market
Show was held on Aug. 7 at the
Wayne County Fairgrounds in the
large show arena.
The judge for the event was
Henry Holloway of Bel Aire, Md.
There were approximately 100
competitors and 200 hogs at the
show.
The animals, which were
between 22S and 275 pounds,
were competing to see which
would produce the most desirable
carcass according, to market
standards.
The grand champion market
Meat judging senior first place team members
from Lancaster County are Jessica Schmidt,
Sara Strlckler, Dale Llvengood (not pictured), and
their coach, Wendall Landis.
Food and nutrition first place team members
from Lycoming County are Sarah Sander, Toni
Rlnker, Sarah Way (high individual), and Jennl
Rowles.
hog weighed 263 pounds and was
raised by William Keyes of the
Pleasant Mount Go-Getters. The
reserve grand champioin market
hog weighed 254 pounds and was
raised by Bridget O’Neill who is
also of the Pleasant Mount Go-
Getters.
