    The new 305 acre Dairy of Distinction farm of Craig and Karen Hay
es Is located In Crawford County with an Edinboro address. The farm
was purchased 23 years ago after Craig worked off the farm for five
years. Over the years they increased the number of stalls but always
looking to not overextend themselves In debt. This Is still the farm
goal. Craig said he has always thought 100 percent down and no
monthly payments was a rather good way to go. Any money that Is

telns, Brown Swiss, and Jerseys, milking 45 cows that average
17,0001b5. of milk and have 35 calves and heifers. And In the future,
Craig believes farmers must bargain more for what they get for their
milk and not take what someone will give.
