for feeder cattle very good. Anticipation of
another bumper com crop continue* to
drive the feeder market. Calf demand good
but edge is off some with buyers more
quality conscious as grass makes its sea
sonal decline in protein. Weigh-ups aver
age to full. Quality plain to average. Feeder
flesh medium to slightly fleshy. Slaughter
cows steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls
steady. Padter demand good. Total of 410
cows and bulls sold with 85 percent to
packers. Receipts this week 7,100; last
week 7,592; last year 14,389. Supply con
sisted of 75 percent yearlings over 600 lbs;
19 percent calves under 600 lbs; 6 percent
cows and bulls. Prices follow with weighed
average weight and price in parenthesis.
